Web site images are part of her Vintage Vantagepoint photographs, taken with a 1958 Asahi Pentax. Sally Luttmer say, "No
automatic aids are utilized: no filters, no light meter. The lens is
standard for the camera: a 55 mm Takumar. The vantagepoint is that of a
photographer twenty-one years older than her camera. Together they have
viewed Canada's three oceans, and travelled the land between. Some of that
land includes the tundra of the Kivalliq Region, where they lived for a
number of years. The pictures reveal in some small measure
the awe the journey has evoked."
Ms. Luttmer, based in Calgary, has lived and traveled widely in the Canadian North. An avid downhill and cross country skier, she retreats to her isolated rustic cabin on the Red Deer River as often as possible.
